Reports from the Forest is a novel for readers of 9 to 90 about the secret plant, animal and insect life of a forest near Brussels. The story offers a new perspective on the more-than-human world around us and a glimpse of a positive future for our planet.
An old Mother Oak who believes that humans are important for the future of the planet, works her magic to bring six city kids to the forest. There, the young people learn how important forests are to the future of humans, and how to interact respectfully with all more-than-human beings. The Warriors of Mighty Beech intend to thwart her plan. Mighty Beech lives along a hiking trail and is wasting away due to the compacting of his roots. He and his allies believe that humans should disappear from this planet as quickly as possible. Reports from the Forest is a book that offers a new perspective on the natural world around us and a glimpse of a positive future.
Anaïs Berck is represented in the creation of this novel by a hornbeam from the Sonian Forest in Brussels (story), the humans An Mertens (text), Tina Horne (translation & fine-tuning), Peter Jacquemyn (drawings); and the algorithms from LibreOffice, Nubo cloud and the databases Wikipedia and Ecopedia.
At the launch you will be able to buy one of the 100 special edition artist-signed copies, printed by arts center nadine. The book’s title in Dutch is Bosberichten.

Op zondag 14 juni 2026 om 11u vindt de boeklancering plaats van de roman Bosberichten in Passaporta Bookshop.

Bosberichten is een roman voor lezers van 9 tot 99 jaar. Het verhaal speelt zich af in een woud bij Brussel. Het biedt een nieuw perspectief op de natuur en opent dimensies naar een hoopvolle toekomst.
Bosberichten speelt zich af in het woud. Een oude moederboom, die gelooft dat mensen belangrijk zijn voor de toekomst van de planeet, haalt zes stadsjongeren naar het bos. Daar leren ze hoe ze respectvol kunnen omgaan met meer-dan-menselijke wezens. De Strijders van Machtige Beuk dwarsbomen haar plan. Machtige Beuk leeft langs een wandelpad en kwijnt weg door de verdichting van zijn wortels. Hij en zijn bondgenoten vinden dat mensen best zo snel mogelijk verdwijnen van deze planeet. Dit boek biedt een nieuw perspectief op de natuur en opent dimensies naar een hoopvolle toekomst.
Voor de creatie van deze roman wordt Anaïs Berck vertegenwoordigd door een haagbeuk uit het Zoniënwoud in Brussel (verhaal), An Mertens (tekst), Tina Horne (fine-tuning en vertaling naar het Engels), Peter Jacquemyn (illustraties) en de algoritmes van LibreOffice, Nubo-cloud en de databanken Wikipedia en Ecopedia.
Tijdens de boeklancering kan je een van de 100 exemplaren van de speciale artistieke uitgave kopen, gedrukt door kunstencentrum nadine. De roman bestaat ook in het Engels als Reports from the Forest.

Le lancement du roman Bosberichten/Reports from the Forest (Messages de la forêt) aura lieu le dimanche 14 juin 2026 à 11h00 à la librairie Passaporta. La présentation se fera en néerlandais et anglais, les deux langues dans lesquelles le livre apparaîtra.

Le récit de Bosberichten/Reports from the Forest se déroule en forêt. Un vieil arbre-mère, convaincu de l’importance de l’humanité pour l’avenir de la planète, emmène six enfants de la ville en forêt. Là, iels apprennent à interagir respectueusement avec les êtres plus qu’humains. Les Guerriers du Hêtre Puissant contrecarrent ses plans. Le Hêtre Puissant vit le long d’un sentier de randonnée et dépérit à cause de l’enchevêtrement de ses racines. Lui et ses allié.es pensent que l’humanité devrait disparaître de la Terre au plus vite. Ce livre offre une nouvelle perspective sur la nature et vers des avenirs porteuses d’espoir.
Pour la création de ce roman, Anaïs Berck est représentée.e par un charme de la forêt de Soignes à Bruxelles (récit), An Mertens (texte), Tina Horne (mise au point et traduction anglaise), Peter Jacquemyn (illustrations); et des algorithmes de LibreOffice, Nubo-cloud et des bases de données Wikipédia et Ecopedia.
Lors du lancement du livre, vous pourrez acquérir l’un des exemplaires de l’édition spéciale, imprimée par le centre d’art nadine – 100 ex. en anglais, 100 ex. en néerlandais. Vous pourrez ensuite commander des exemplaires classiques dans toutes les librairies.
